ole' kitty

Most of yesterday consisted of trying to coax a kitty cat named Diesel out of a tree with a can of tuna.

He was up there for a few days. Friend couldn't get him to let go of the limb. So I got him.

slow day

This winter seems to be starting like every other winter, except completely different.
Sometimes I regret having "burned bridges". Some were not intentional. Some just seemed to happen.
The Weakerthans put me in a certain mood. Go buy the album Reconstruction Site right now if you have never heard it.
I am starting the food picture thing today. Because I'm not good at it yet. But today it will start.
I found some cool things to post but I think I'm going to post them later.
Okay, I'm going to take a shower.

eat food, give thanks

I once saw someone, somewhere on the internet, take a picture of everything that they consumed for a period of time. It was great. You don't realize how many things go into your body from day to day. So, I am going to attempt to do this for a week and I will post all of the pictures on here. I attempted this earlier this week one day and failed horribly to remember to take a picture of anything.

Second time's a charm.

And you should also check this stuff out. It's pretty amazing.

Painting on wood is kind of done, but AJ Fosik has some real cool 3D pieces.

Aline Smithson has a weird photo collection that's worth checking out.

And last is Heide Hatry, who does some nasty stuff with pig skin.

I'm at a loss for adjectives this morning.

Now off to raking leaves, trimming bushes, planting flowers, and celebrating pre-Thanksgiving at Kirin's house.

wishing

I would have been here.

and some Super 8 here.

one more

Check out these lofts in Japan.

Japenese lovin'

I've been looking at lots of Japanese things lately and I ran across this guy named Atsushi Fukunaga that does some interesting art where he tries to show sound with 3D objects and color. I think I like it.

"the sound of colored pencils breaking"

A boat race coarse in Tokyo has been having problems with the littering of losing tickets. So, to solve this problem, someone came up with the idea to make a 1.6 meter tall Rocky Mountain goat, which has a thick coat of white fur and ticket-detecting sensors in its mouth, to devour the tickets. It eats an average of 500 tickets a day. The goatkeeper says, “It eats up your frustrations so that you will have better luck with the next race.” Sometimes I wish we had crazy minds like the Japanese.

You should check out the cars at this year's Tokyo Motor Show. Especially the Suzuki Pixy, Nissan Pivo2, Toyota iReal, Honda Puyo, and definitely the Toyota RiN.

Kenichi Yokono
carves plywood and it's pretty amazing.

out

Last night was Halloween and it was a semi-interesting evening for me. First, I passed out candy to trick or treaters with Carrie and Rachel. I was very disappointed with the costumes. Kids need to learn to be cool these days.
So, we knew of several things happening that night and first on the list was the Five-points pub crawl. We went in to Three Crow and just used the bathroom because I have never seen so many people in a bar since I accidentally went to a wet t-shirt contest. So we headed over to Beyond the Edge where our friend mister Chris Callis was. He was with all of his Japanese friends. The one dressed as mustard said I was gorgeous in very broken English. I thought it was funny. But then we got to drunk and went home.

We realized that, for us, Halloween consisted of hanging out with Japanese people.

That was a terribly told story. I'm sorry. I can't focus today. Maybe from those Japaneses.

Tonight is Laura's 21st. Out and about.
