tiny tiny

i got some pictures developed. i borrowed my mother's 35mm and have been taking some pictures with it. the pictures are from the local honey party. but i forgot them in carrie's car.so maybe in a couple of days i will have time to post them. i'll probably just put them on my flickr.

besides that, you should check out tinyshowcase.com
the site sells small, limited edition prints from a different artist each week. and all of the proceeds go towards a charity of the artists choice. it's kind of nice and they have good art.

speaking of tiny.. tiny mix tapes is a good site for finding new music. they mostly know whats up.

next

i was unaware the akron/family had a new album out until recently. forunately i got it as a christmas gift. it came with a free dvd and the album is pretty great so far. i'm watching the dvd right now.
if you haven't heard them yet, then just go buy the self-titled album. their website has some song samples that you can listen to but it doesn't really do the album justice. and the songs on myspace are mostly b-sides.
but their self-titled is easily in my top five albums of all time.

and the new album's artwork is a treat..

still isn't

i just got off the phone with the insurance company. their are "conflicting stories" about my little bicycle accident. so now i have to fax in all of these things to the insurance company somehow. but this is the agents last day until january second. so basically it's going to take a little longer than i thought. that fucking red neck just had to change the story and say that i ran into the back of him after he passed me. does that make any sense? i didn't think so. i wouldn't have even stopped if that had happened. well, hopefully i will still get the six hundred dollars they owe me. and if not, i'm seriously going to get bart durham on this. then i can have my own commercial about how i'm a thousandaire now.

well, i haven't really done much christmas shopping still, so im going to take my messed up bike around town and finish it.
but i'll leave you with a couple of things to look at..

first off.. the best invention in the world.
the 40 cozy. ( i don't know why the north insists on calling it a cozy, it's a coozy.) they also make tall boy coozy's. i like the leopard one, but it's not available for the full forty.

also check out sam3.
he has some awesome art, installations, and HUGE graffiti.

'tis the season

here are some things that have nothing to do with the season..

Richard Wilson has an installation in Liverpool called "Turning the Place Over" that i thought was such a simple idea but just amazing that he actually pulled it off. The building was set to be torn down when he got permission from the city to do this installation. i think it cost over one million pounds to finish and will stay until the end of '08. there are some different shots of it on youtube. but i like it straight ahead.

Kidrobot has some really cool toys including some stuffed Yo Gabba Gabba! characters. They have some other things worth checking out as well, although the awesome sweaters are way to expensive.

If only i could afford cool furniture. and if only i could get away from the word cool. blu dots furniture is.. cool. i'm not going to post a picture, so just click it.

i think that's about it.. oh.. i posted a link to some nasa pictures on myspace. but i'll post it here as well for good measure. nasanasanasa

and always remember...
click on pictures to make them bigger.

i'm going to ride the bike around town and then eat some soup in h-ville.

yada

here's some more stuff to look at..

this story is pretty amazing. an underground group of architects, historians, and others known as The Untergunther broke into the Pantheon in Paris for over a year at night to repair its broken antique clock. they setup a workshop and carefully tore it apart and reassembled it ending it's neglect and then were brought to trial once they came forward. this group has done many other "missions" to "restore France's cultural heritage". crazy.

oh.. rumor is, there's a new hamburger eyes issue coming out. maybe i will finally be able to get one. i'm pretty excited.

i just remembered something i found a while back. someone made an entire replication of San Francisco(i think) out of jello. the only place i can still find pictures is here. i think she took her site down... oh. nevermind. i found it. her name is Liz Hickok.

scout niblett and i have just been introduced and i think i've finally been impressed by music this year. she may be old news to some, but im just glad i finally heard her. and she's very gross beautiful.
here's the video for "kiss" featuring will oldham, who you also need to know. i saw the video after i heard the song. still not sure about the video. i have mixed feelings.

wow, i love the auto save on blogger. i would have lost it twice already. i hate pc's. someone buy me a mac. or make will o'dell buy me a new one. i'll give you his phone number and address if you'd like.

also.. i am not very good at taking pictures for my consuming project. so i think i've given up. but if someone else wants to do it, i sure would like to see the pictures.

if you were wondering what i look like right now, well, here you go..

nevermind. i'll post that picture tomorrow. it's taking to long and i need to sleep.

chocolate

i had to let everyone see this.
i enjoyed it.

Most of yesterday consisted of trying to coax a kitty cat named Diesel out of a tree with a can of tuna.

He was up there for a few days. Friend couldn't get him to let go of the limb. So I got him.

slow day

This winter seems to be starting like every other winter, except completely different.
Sometimes I regret having "burned bridges". Some were not intentional. Some just seemed to happen.
The Weakerthans put me in a certain mood. Go buy the album Reconstruction Site right now if you have never heard it.
I am starting the food picture thing today. Because I'm not good at it yet. But today it will start.
I found some cool things to post but I think I'm going to post them later.
Okay, I'm going to take a shower.

eat food, give thanks

I once saw someone, somewhere on the internet, take a picture of everything that they consumed for a period of time. It was great. You don't realize how many things go into your body from day to day. So, I am going to attempt to do this for a week and I will post all of the pictures on here. I attempted this earlier this week one day and failed horribly to remember to take a picture of anything.

Second time's a charm.

And you should also check this stuff out. It's pretty amazing.

Painting on wood is kind of done, but AJ Fosik has some real cool 3D pieces.

Aline Smithson has a weird photo collection that's worth checking out.

And last is Heide Hatry, who does some nasty stuff with pig skin.

I'm at a loss for adjectives this morning.

Now off to raking leaves, trimming bushes, planting flowers, and celebrating pre-Thanksgiving at Kirin's house.

healthy skin, perfect teeth

this is what my afternoon consisted..

wishing

I would have been here.

and some Super 8 here.

one more

Check out these lofts in Japan.

Japenese lovin'

I've been looking at lots of Japanese things lately and I ran across this guy named Atsushi Fukunaga that does some interesting art where he tries to show sound with 3D objects and color. I think I like it.

"the sound of colored pencils breaking"

A boat race coarse in Tokyo has been having problems with the littering of losing tickets. So, to solve this problem, someone came up with the idea to make a 1.6 meter tall Rocky Mountain goat, which has a thick coat of white fur and ticket-detecting sensors in its mouth, to devour the tickets. It eats an average of 500 tickets a day. The goatkeeper says, “It eats up your frustrations so that you will have better luck with the next race.” Sometimes I wish we had crazy minds like the Japanese.

You should check out the cars at this year's Tokyo Motor Show. Especially the Suzuki Pixy, Nissan Pivo2, Toyota iReal, Honda Puyo, and definitely the Toyota RiN.

Kenichi Yokono
carves plywood and it's pretty amazing.

out

Last night was Halloween and it was a semi-interesting evening for me. First, I passed out candy to trick or treaters with Carrie and Rachel. I was very disappointed with the costumes. Kids need to learn to be cool these days.
So, we knew of several things happening that night and first on the list was the Five-points pub crawl. We went in to Three Crow and just used the bathroom because I have never seen so many people in a bar since I accidentally went to a wet t-shirt contest. So we headed over to Beyond the Edge where our friend mister Chris Callis was. He was with all of his Japanese friends. The one dressed as mustard said I was gorgeous in very broken English. I thought it was funny. But then we got to drunk and went home.

We realized that, for us, Halloween consisted of hanging out with Japanese people.

That was a terribly told story. I'm sorry. I can't focus today. Maybe from those Japaneses.

Tonight is Laura's 21st. Out and about.

first of all..

I was reading print magazine today when I stumbled across an article on a new children's television show. It's called Yo Gabba Gabba!. It is definitely one of the most visually creative and weird children's show I've seen. I would compare it to H.R. Pufnstuf.
Here's a clip from the show.

Today, I also remebered something that I found a long time ago, and i must buy one although they are a bit expensive. It's a realfakewatch. I prefer the Gerald..

One last thing.. These are some rad cabinets and shelves by Wrongwoods. You can get more information and see more at the Established and Sons site.
